PRIMA PIXIE GLEN CREATION

Enthusiasm personified - this is Helen.  Anything that I suggest she do for her creations is met with an abundance of enthusiasm and excitement on her part.  Just recently I helped Helen design and create a layout of her granddaughter Gabriella using the Prima Pixie Glen range of paper.  Again a number of elements were cut out from the paper and used with great results, creating awesome dimension on the layout.  I just love the soft, subtle colours of this range and the photograph is suited perfectly.

HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGIE...

... in the teacup?

Not only is Glyn a wonderful person but she has this incredible talent of making the most of her pages and cuts out everything she possibly can on the page to enhance her layout.   Whilst most of my clients complain bitterly about this technique (however, pleased they are with the result), Glyn is at her happiest with a pair of scissors in her hand and cuts away at her page, watching her is like seeing someone conduct an orchestra - she does it with such passion and precision.

In her latest creation I assisted Glyn in creating an awesome layout of her little treasure J'Adore, a minature Toy French Poodle - who literally fits into a teacup!!!  Intricate cutting and clever use of the elements on the Kaizer Kraft Lil Primrose paper, together with lots of layering really brought the layout to life.

PACK YOUR BAGS...

... and get yourself onboard the journey to complete your travel albums :-)

I have been honoured to create a layout with the new range of awesome paper aptly entitled around the world, and laser cutouts from Scrap Collections (www.scrapcollections.co.za).

This is quite an interactive page, ie the right hand side of the layout rotates to reveal four different photographs through the yellow circle.  The 'indexed' pocket on the left hand page contains additional space and cards for journalling, memrobellia, photographs, etc.

A BEAUTIFUL 21st GIFT

the inside of the His Master Voice Grammerphone album.
My client Liz Monson approached me and asked for my assistance in creating something unusual and beautiful for her granddaughter's 21st birthday.   I suggested an old His Master's Voice Grammerphone record album - we went next door into the book / antique shop and voila.  Liz laboured many hours and I relished in the creativity that flooded my mind in this design.

CUTIE PATOOTIE

I was priveliged to assist my client Coralie Clark in designing and creating this cute layout of her granddaugther cooling off.

DAY 7 - PHOTO CHALLENGE - HANDWRITING

There aren't many things as special as receiving a handwritten letter.  I am blessed to have letters that my paternal grandfather wrote to my grandmother during the Second World War.  They are so precious to me and make me long to have known my grandparents better.  I am in awe at the neatness and beauty of my grandfather's handwriting albeit that he might be writing in very bad light, in a trench, who knows what the conditions could have been like, but this did not deter him from writing to my grandmother EVERY DAY.

Think about getting yourself a writing pad and beautiful pen and write to someone today...

DAY 6 - PHOTO CHALLENGE - PHOTO OF ME

... a photo of me ;-)

DAY 5 - PHOTO CHALLENGE - HEART

My heart (literally and figuratively) is on my porch which is my 'other happy place'.  It is a cement art piece and I photographed it on the arm of the chair of which the paint has been well weathered - just the way I like it :-)  I tend to surround myself with hearts, with love and I always find that I have place for one more...

PHOTO CHALLENGE DAY 3 - WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY...

this beautiful creation takes pride of place on my plant stand

"We have to make peace an attitude.  then we have to make it a habit.  Finally, we must decide to live peace, to share it around the world-not just talk about it.. Nobody ever got anywhere by sitting around, right?"

Mattie Stepanek, poet and philospher

Last year a friend lent me the most amazing book I have ever read - Messenger by Mattie Stepanek.  The link is this http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=mattie+stepanek&x=24&y=25.

I do believe that peace is possible - if we all change our attitude and realize that love is all we need and that focussing on the positive, even if I am accused of 'wearing rose tinted glasses', can make a difference we just all have to do it.  I challenge you today to immediately turn any negative thought that comes into your mind into a positive one and see what happens.

Below are a couple of links that you might like to visit.   I hope that my photo inspiration today will make a difference in somebody's life.

Have a wonderful day.

The hope of PEACE for everyone to live together in harmony and to respect and accept each other's diversity.  To know that love is all you need...

Consider our legacy-how we hope to be remembered-what are we doing each day to make that a reality."-Mattie Stepanek in "JUST PEACE" book (AMP, 2006).

PHOTO CHALLENGE DAY 2

Yesterday's topic "TIME" was very appropriate and hence the late post of my picture.  Trying my best this year to ensure that time is not going to be an issue - time is not going to control me.

Firstly, this year I need to make time for me and by doing that I can continue trying to do my best for others.
